Pyramid of Giza, Cairo, Egypt

Sup, it's good to see you guys again, today I've got an interesting topic to talk to you guys about, it's about one of the oldest civilizations in the world, and it's going to be about Egypt. I have been living here for quite a long time, about 7 years in total, and that's because my father works in the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo.

In the span of 7 years, we as a family have travelled to almost every tourist spot in Egypt, but I am only going to cover some parts of it, so without further ado, let's start.

My experience on the education system in Egypt is great, in elementary I studied at Pakistan International School of Cairo (PISC), basically a Pakistan School but located in Egypt, it's an international school so therefore we use English as our main language and Arabian as our second language, the third language that is available right there in PISC was Urdu and French.

It took a while for me and my brothers to adapt to the school, as we can't speak English neither Arabic, but we did get help from friends who are from Brunei, Indonesia and even Malaysia. There are total of 40 different countries of people that are enrolled here, and I have made quite a lot of friends, amongst them are from Sudan, United States, United Kingdom, Madagascar, Pakistan, Brazil and much more.

Here they call the educational level as Grades until high school and not Form, they have Grade 1 until Grade 12, as for example, in Malaysia, in elementary they call it Grade 1 until Grade 6, and later in High school they call it Form 1 until Form 6 but that isn't the case here. During my time here in PISC, I studied from kindergarten until Grade 4.

Fast forward to grade 6... why grade 6? Well, that's because I returned to Malaysia and studied at Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan 3, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor for a whole year, and this is due to my father finishing his contract back then but to our surprise a year later, he got another contract to extend for another 2 years. So then, we as a family returned to Egypt, we enrolled at Salahaldin International School, Cairo (SIS). This time the school is based on Turkey but located in Egypt, so there were lots of Turkish people here. This school is huge, as it mixes all school's level from kindergarten to elementary to high school. What amazes me about this school is its educational system, it's like colleges and university style where you don't have fixed class, but you have to move from classes to classes depending on your timetables, you also got your own lockers to store notebooks, so you don't have to bring heavy bags to school. They also use e-books, so you just have to bring a tab or an I-pad to class and download textbooks to school, don't worry about the connection as every classes also has a Wi-Fi router to connect to.

Saying goodbye to Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, who I actually didn't know who he was at the time

And now let's talk about the more entertaining stuff, which is travelling. Let's go!

What is the no.1 tourism spot for tourist that travels in Egypt? Well, you have guessed it, it's the Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops. It is the oldest and the largest pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering present-day Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It is also the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world, and the only one to remain largely intact.

Family photo in front of Pyramids of Giza - It was winter, so we were wearing jackets

Fun-fact, Egypt is a 4 seasonal country, and it is not always hot like what people thought, so when it is winter season, it does gets cold, normally it's around 5-10 Celsius, but some regions have even recorded to below -15 Celsius.

Aswan Egypt

Aswan is a city in the Southern Egypt and is the capital of the Aswan Governorate. Aswan was the source of many of Ancient Egypt's longest-lasting monuments and many of the relics you'll see as far north as Luxor were constructed from the stone mined here

Like every famous series and titles out there, there must be at least one beach episode, and this is ours.

This is the Hur Ghada's beach. Hur Ghada is a city in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt. It is one of the country's main tourist centers which is located on the Red Sea coast.

-My sister couldn't just wait to take a family picture, well at least she's in the photo.

I mean, who doesn't want to build a sandcastle at the beach, it is a must try, at least once

Construction zone

This is the Agiba Beach, probably the best beach I have ever went to, its crystal clear, and you can see small fishes near the shore, goggles are a must have here.

Agiba Beach gets its name from the Arabic 'Agheeb' or Malay calls it 'Ajaib', which translates to miracle. The beach lies on Egypt's Mediterranean Sea coast just west of the town of Marsa Matrouh. Set back in a small cove, the near white sands are trapped between cliffs on all sides.

Father: "Mirul" *snaps*
 Me: "I wasn't ready..."

It's just like swimming pool lol but larger and saltier.

This is University Al-Azhar. It is a public university in Cairo, Egypt. Associated with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Islamic Cairo, it is Egypt's oldest degree-granting university and is renowned as the most prestigious university for Islamic learning.

It looks, more like a mosque, more than it looks like a university, no wonder its renowned as the most prestigious university for Islamic teaching.

Looks kinda cool even if most of us wasn't ready

This is the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha or Alabaster Mosque. It is deemed as the most beautiful mosque in Cairo. Muhammad Ali chose to build his state mosque entirely in the architectural style of his former overlords, the Ottomans, unlike the Mamluks who, despite their political submission to the Ottomans, stuck to the architectural styles of the previous Mamluk dynasties.

Among several honors, this park is listed as one of the world's sixty great public spaces by the Project for Public Spaces. The park was created by the Historic Cities Support Program of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, an entity of the Aga Khan Development Network.

In my opinion, if you are an adventurous type of person, I highly recommend travelling to Egypt, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, crystal clear beaches, and lots of monuments, temples and tombs for those that loves adventuring, maybe you will end up finding a hidden treasure somewhere in the temples or the tombs? Who knows, only you can find out. Well, that's it for today's blog, I hope you guys enjoyed my stories and till we meet again in a new chapter.

Peace out.
